I’ve probably thought about this system more than any of my other personal projects, and I just recently obtained a 3D printer, so the creation is within reach. However, for now, this remains a series of sketches and ideas. When I return from Rome, I’ll begin printing and iterating so that, by next fall, I can use the desk at my studio space at school. The design is fairly simple: a track system secured to a desk with command strips and connected to one another with a dovetail joint. Once the track system is laid out in whichever orientation you desire, you then slide in inserts that serve different functions. The possibilities for the inserts are numerous, ranging from gaming desktop needs to school or art-based needs. A simple design and simple assembly with countless customizations.
